nach dem erwerb eines grundstückes in südfrankreich durch den vizeclubobmann von white club wird ein mehrere hektar großes areal zum schauplatz für das diesjährige projekt „landgewinnung“. künstlerInnen aus österreich und frankreich treffen im juli 2010 einander dort, um arbeiten und konzepte zu entwickeln, wie das derzeit brache stück land am besten genutzt werden könnte. zentrale themen sind kartographische und geologische untersuchungen, soziologische und neureligiöse experimente, unkonventionelle versuche der urbarmachung, sowie aufspürung und gewinnung von etwaigen bodenschätzen. ln kooperation mit der kuratorin marie-christine laurel finden sich junge künstlerInnen mit unterschiedlichsten ansätzen zu diesem symposium ein, um in einem zelt-camp künstlerische feldforschung zu betreiben. teilnehmer werden neben dem vierköpfigen white club team zwei bis drei kunstschaffende aus frankreich sein.unmittelbar nach abschluss werden die ergebnisse der expeditionsgruppe in mehren apartments in paris präsentiert. ergänzt wird die playliste durch videos von künstlerinnen die marie-chrsitine laurel kuratiert hat.

„landgewinnung“ deklariert sich hierbei als kreativer, poetischer prozess, der ein spannungsfeld zwischen romantischen bedürfnissen und ökonomischen notwendigkeiten ins zentrum der überlegungen rückt.

after the vice chairman of white club purchased land in southern france, this ground, measuring several acres, will be the venue for this year's project "land reclamation". in july 2010 artists from austria and france will meet there to work and develop concepts, how the currently uncultivated land could be used best. central themes probably will be cartographic and geological surveys, sociological and new religious experimentation, unconventional attempts of cultivation, as well as detection and mining of natural resources. in cooperation with the curator marie-christine laurel young artists with different approaches will meet at this symposium to live in a camp of tents and pursue artistic field studies. additional to white club team of four, two to three artists coming from france will participate as well. immediately after successful conclusion the results will be presented together with an advanced playliste at flats in paris.

"land reclamation" is declared as a creative, poetic process that put the tension between romantic desires and economic needs into the center of our considerations.
